Professional Training & Certificate Program
Welcome BHP trainees, admins, and trainers to the Professional Training & Certificate Program’s new website! Woodfords Family Services administers the Professional Training and Certificate (PTC) Program for the State of Maine, which currently includes the Behavioral Health Professional (BHP) Training and Certificate Program.
The PTC Program
The PTC Program is designed to create certification pathways for Maine’s direct care workforce. This includes a universal core training required of all direct care workers and certification pathways for Behavioral Health Professionals (BHPs), Direct Support Professionals (DSPs), and Direct Service Workers (DSWs). These trainings qualify direct care providers for work in services for children and adults in a variety of residential, home, school, community and other settings receiving MaineCare reimbursement. The program is currently under development with an anticipated availability date of early 2027.
At this time, individuals needing assistance with DSP or DSW certification should reach out to DSP.DHHS@maine.gov.
